Earea is a tool that helps people who are hard of hearing by identifying different events (for example door knocking, alarm, etc..) and alerting the user with the help of tangible interfaces. In addition, one of our targets is to customize the users experience with the help of a mobile app.

On top of that, to allow the program constant improvement, we want to use Machine Learning technics and tools to optimize relevant events identifying. To improve the preciseness and accuracy of the ML the user will be able to mark each alert if it was necessary or not and notify about missed alerts.
With this model for example, by using accurate voice identification we can ignore irrelevant noises and handle only those we need.

We plan to develop this project as an open-source platform and allow the community to expand the project and keep it alive and reach as many people as possible so that Earea can assist them.

Our goal is to allow integration with multiple and various sensors as input in a convenient way but focus on sound inputs at this point.
