The project focuses on developing a hospital-based clinical support system that helps physicians translate complex medical documents into clear, patient-friendly language. ClearMed processes medical text, identifies complex terms, retrieves approved explanations from a closed and controlled database, and generates a simplified version while preserving the original medical meaning. ClearMed is designed to integrate with existing hospital systems, operating as a connected layer within the clinical environment. A key aspect of the system is privacy, as no documents are stored—processing is done temporarily for display or printing only. The architecture is based on a multi-agent pipeline, including analysis, term extraction, knowledge retrieval, simplification, and safety validation, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and prevention of unsupported or misleading information.
